Portmill Surgery has been a proud Research Centre for the last 2 decades. Dr Aldegather ran our research studies for many years and now Dr Thenuwara has taken over supported by one of our practice nurses.

We partner with, amongst others, the National Institute for Health and Care Research.

This Practice is part of the Clinical Research Network who host medical research on a regular basis. A nurse or doctor at this practice may approach you to participate in a research project. Please consider any patient information leaflets you may receive about the research carefully.

Taking part in a research project can vary greatly and might involve completing a questionnaire, agreeing to an interview with a researcher or taking part in a clinical trial. Participation in any research is voluntary and saying no will not affect your usual medical care.
